Park Alexander were prominent in business and civic affairs in Akron and Summit County, Ohio. J. Park Alexander was a teacher, manufacturer of brick and stoneware, owned two oil refineries, worked with the Summit County Agricultural Society and Ohio State Board of Agriculture, and served as a state legislator, 1882-98. His daughter, Clara, married professor Charles B. Wright of Middlebury, Vt. The collection consists of diaries, journals, correspondence, a legislative resolution, and autographs for J. Park Alexander, his daughter Clara and her husband Charles B. Wright, his wife Martha Wright Alexander, and his mother, Mary.
