Willam Leet was the grandson of Samuel Leet of Guilford, Connecticut. William's father, Jared, moved to Williamstown, Massachusetts, in 1792. William moved to Lorain County, Ohio, in 1839. His daughter, Mary Ann, married Joseph Moon and had a daughter named Catharine who married Philo Bennett in 1855. Oliver R. Bennett served in the War of 1812 and was captain of his unit of the New Hampshire Militia in 1818. He married Betsey Ford and later moved to Brunswick, Ohio, where he became a farmer. The collection consists of deeds, diaries, accounts and receipts (1833-1894), Bennett's Honorable Discharge (1812), and four calls for military duty in the town of Shelby, state unnamed (1818).
