She wrote "Red light, green light", a children's book about Clevelander Garrett Morgan, and was active in many community groups. She helped organize the Glenville Area Community Council, Parkgate Avenue Street Club, East 111th Street Club, and the Retired Teachers' Union. She served as vice-president of the Cleveland Branch, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and helped with its membership drive, Freedom Fund dinner, march on Washington, and discrimination surveys. The collection consists of biographical materials, correspondence, files on the writing and promotion of "Red light, green light", clippings, and subject files, including those for the NAACP, the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Club, Florida Club, Delta Sigma Theta Club, and St. John's A.M.E.
