She was a teacher at Rutherford B. Hayes, Kinsman, and Anton Grdina schools. She traveled throughout the world as a delegate to conferences of the World Confederation of the Teaching Profession, including Australia, England, Nigeria, Indonesia, and Brazil. She held leadership positions in thirty Ohio Education assemblies and served for eight years on the Ohio Education Association's Human Relations Committee. Her husband Edward L. Holloway (1910-1985) was a industrial arts teacher at several Cleveland Public Schools who served in leadership capacities in the North Eastern Ohio Teachers Association and the Ohio Education Association. The Holloways were among the first African American teachers to serve in leadership positions within the Ohio Education Association. She also served on the Advisory Board on Playgrounds and Recreation and on the Community Relations Board of Cleveland, Ohio. The collection consists of Bertha Blue's art course notebook, correspondence, newspaper clippings, St. John African Methodist Episcopal newsletters, scrapbooks, and Jane Lee Darr's resume and writings.
