Honore was an American History instructor at the Cleveland Board of Education's Adult Education Center on Stearns Road in Cleveland, Ohio, in the mid-1970s. One of her class projects involved written reports of student interviews of family members, many of whom were African Americans who were born in the South. The Center formed under the leadership of Edward Miggins, a history professor at Tri-C who was previously involved in the Cleveland Public Library's Cleveland Heritage Program and the Greater Cleveland Ethnographic Museum. Under Miggins' leadership, the Center conducted two oral history projects and produced a film. Twenty-three Northeast Ohio survivors were interviewed as part of the national project. These interviews were conducted by Judah Rubinstein and Bea Stadtler. Copies of all transcripts are stored at the William E. Wiener Oral History Library of the American Jewish Committee in New York. Excerpts of the interviews were published in the book, Voices from the Holocaust, edited by Sylvia Rothchild and published in 1981. The collection consists of transcripts of interviews with twenty-three Holocaust survivors residing in Northeast Ohio. Interviews were conducted with members of the gay and lesbian community from 1995 to 2001 and in 2003. The collection was created by the Lesbian Gay Community Service Center of Greater Cleveland (LGCSC) and Stanley Garfinkel, Joan Organ, and Richard Van Patten. The collection consists of cassette tapes, compact discs (CDs), and transcripts of twenty-six oral history interviews. The exhibits were to depict contributions from Cleveland's ethnic groups to the multicultural society of the area. Following the 1976 Bicentennial celebration, the museum established a permanent office and exhibit gallery in the Old Arcade in downtown Cleveland. Although the museum closed in 1981, it was able to document the experiences of immigrants through oral histories, photographs, and other collected material.
