In 1876, he was elected to the United States House of Representatives. He was Governor of Ohio 1891-1896. First elected President of the United States in 1896, he was reelected in 1900. He was assassinated in September 1901. The collection consists of editors' copies and page proofs of McKinley's speeches as President, as well as an index for the book Speeches and Addresses of William McKinley.
